Owl

This weekend is the annual "Family Camping Trip" with all of my cousins, aunts, uncles, and family on my dad's side. Since we had to miss out on the fun, we decided to drive to a National Park in Holland. It's about an hour and a half from our house. It was a great park, with toys for the kids to play on. Next to the toys, was a cafe for the adults. So, Erik and I sat at a table and ate lunch and had tea, while the kids played. It was the first time since we've had kids, that we could just sit and talk. We didn't have to follow them all over the playground. What fun for all of us!
At this park, there are miles and miles of bike trails. They have white bikes all over the park. When you see one, you may use it to take it anywhere in the park. So, after the kids had a play, we hopped on the bikes for a ride. It's such a neat concept! It makes it so easy for families to visit. The boys loved it, and so did we!
Afterwards, we visited the nature center. The boys spotted an owl in the center. Ever since Curtis was a toddler, he's thought there is an owl in our basement, back home in Minnesota. So, he see's the owl and is going nuts! Johnny, who also thinks there is an owl in our basement in MN, goes nuts as well! The difference is, he goes nuts with a PANIC ATTACK! He was SO scared of the owl! It will be interesting to see if he ventures into the basement back home by himself, in December. Today was a great day....we had loads of fun...but were still missing the "Dells" with the cousins! Hope they had a great weekend too!

The OWL......

Curtis says, "It's dist fake Johnny, I'm not afraid anymore!"

Johnny was deathly afraid of the owl and wanted to leave the building!
