These Guys are "SEW" COOL!

Forgot to mention that last week while Lynne was here, my Aunt Colleen made her way to Minneapolis for the first time. She wanted Megan to teach her how to sew a few things. Here she is proudly displaying her first project- a baby blanket. She really picked up on it quickly!
Watch out Hayden, and new baby...Granny can SEW!
On the way to New Prague, she picked up my mom. Here are the three amigos. Colleen, my mom, and Megan all at their own machines, sewing a high chair seat holder! Can you say "DORKY!"
Speaking of DORKY- Look who got matching glasses while out shopping at a boutique in our town! They use to have matching bikini's, then it was matching diaper bags, after that it was matching station wagons/mini vans, and now it's glasses! Can't wait to see what's next!

Colleen is the BEST when it comes to good food! She bought ice cream treats from the Swans man, and brought goodies with her...think KIX Bars! We also went to the Mall of America so she could see it for the first time! Good time had by all! I think it needs to be a yearly tradition!

Reunited And It Feels So.....

A little over a year ago the kids and I left Holland for a month vacation to the good ole' USA! Little did we know we would be moving back to the States for good. I never got to say goodbye to anyone and neither did the kids. Two weeks ago, my best friend Lynne, moved to Baton Rouge, LA. She and the kids flew up for the week and we got to see each other again. it was SO nice. The kids were SO excited to see each other...in her words they were "Mental!" I would label them just plain "CRAZY!" (Above are the kids and Lynne on the first night at bedtime!)
We picked her up at the airport at 4:30 and the kids were so excited and wanted to sleep together! We thought it was a good idea....
Until about 9pm rolled around. Erik told us to go talk and he'd take care of them and tell stories. Well, the story hour, ended up sounded more like "Happy Hour" to us! Finally, it was 9:20 and it was OUT OF CONTROL! I ran up there, and there was NO Erik in the kids room. Just the kids having the time of their lives! Erik was rocking the baby, who was woken up with all the laughing and shouting! Needless to say, the kids were split up from that moment on....for the rest of the week at bedtime! We weren't stupid enough to try it again!
Here I am asking what they think of American food! Emma gave it a thumbs down....and by Wednesday, was puking when she woke up! I think it didn't agree with her tummy! Callum had never had peanut butter and LOVED it! He ate PB on toast, PB&J, Peanut Butter Captain Crunch, PB Granola bars, and Reese's! Lynne bit into a Reese's and said, "YUCK, what is it with you Americans and PB!" LOL! I can't wait to start stocking up on PB snacks to bring down for Callum when I visit in August!
Andrew loved the action...even though his daddy calls him a little GIRL in this hat!
Lynne is due to have a baby in 4 weeks! Emma and Callum were loving Andrew! Here's my new helper! She fed him lunch for me!
Most of it got in the mouth!
I scheduled my kids to go to an "All Sports" camp back in April. It happened to be this week. After Sunday night's episode and the kids being "Mental" Lynne had me sign up her kids too! It was great! They all loved it, and we had just Andrew from 1-4pm every day!
Lynne wasn't sure if her kids would go to camp, because of all the change they've had the past 3 weeks. But, from the pictures, you can see they had a great time! I think Emma fancied the coach! LOOK at the smile! (They are the boy and girl smiling at the coach!)
Here all four kiddos are with their Merit Awards on the last day of camp!
Lynne and Curtis! Can you believe she is due in four weeks from tomorrow!? She doesn't have a car, house, shipments, license, schools, etc! She is going to be "Mental" these next few weeks! Wish I could help her more! I'll be flying down to help watch the kids and take them to school when she is in the hospital.
This was the "Last Supper." They had to stay up for the Disney Channel's premiere of Wizards on Deck with Hannah Montana! Disney "hooked" them already! Lynne's hubby called and would talk to the kids on the phone and say they sounded American already! I told him- "You just WAIT!"
How cute is she? On Monday morning, Lynne told me she only brought Crocs for her kids. So, I had to take Emma out to get a pair of cheap tennis shoes for the camp! Only thing I wasn't prepared for....how PICKY girls are! Too loose, too tight, arch hurts, not pretty enough, don't like purple, only like pink, etc! I was dying and Lynne was laughing at me when I told the story! I finally got three pairs of the same shoe and told her to try on one, then the next, and finally the last one felt good enough! How did my mom do it! My boys could give two sh*ts when I go with them!
100% all boy! The beginning of the week, Lynne sent him to camp with cargo shorts and a polo shirt on! I was dying! Finally, I told her he needed some "American" clothes! So, she went out and got him some t-shirts and mesh shorts! My dad gave him a Logan hat. One day at camp, we went to pick him up. His shorts were to his ankles, and his hat on crooked. I told Lynne all he needed was the limp walk and he'd fit right in!
Saying goodbye before leaving for the airport!
It was a great week...but we are already counting down the months until Lynne is done nursing and we can go to NYC with JUST US! Next up will be Disney World in February! We are all meeting down there! I'm sure it will be "Mental" but fun!
On a side note....we got into the car on the way to the airport and Lynne told me she's never seen a messier car! I washed, vacuumed, and cleaned it out before I picked her up! I was dying and said-" Who's kid spilled the bag of Goldfish?? " This was only the floor in the backseat! Can you imagine what I'll be cleaning today! LOL!

Fun in the Sun!

On Monday, the boys and I headed up to Cleary Park in Savage, MN. It's a GREAT park. Megan and Meredith came along. First we wanted to go for a nice walk around the 3.5 mile paved trail by the lake. I told the boys, if they were good, then they could go to the playground and beach when we were finished. Megan and I were out for a good walk...not a slow one. The walk started with Johnny crying that he "ISN'T a baby anymore!" So, instead of letting him sit in the running stroller, I let him bike with Curtis. I didn't think it was a good idea, but Megan said, "Let him do it!"

About 1/12 of the way down the path, Johnny tips over on his bike and has a huge fit b/c the decorations fell off his bike from the parade! So, I lure him into the stroller by telling him he can have fruit snacks. I walk his bike Back to the car.

We start going at a pretty good pace, and 0.4 miles down Curtis is yelling that he has to poop REALLY bad! So, being the good mother I am...I taught him a great technique from our "Camp Days" and had him grace the woods!

We get going again, and at the mile marker, there is a restroom, and now Johnny has to do the SAME thing! Megan is dying! We have been going at a SNAILS pace! So, I tell everyone they have to go! No more stopping!

At the two mile marker, Johnny wants to run! That lasts a whole block and he was too hot! It ends with Andrew fussing b/c he is hungry! Let's just say, the MINUTE the walk was over, Megan and naughty little Meredith busted it out of there and went back home! You think she was annoyed with us???
Naughty girl! (:
Curtis stopping at all the maps to tell us what way to go! That wasn't annoying or anything!
Boys splashing each other in the lake when we were done. Curtis kept splashing a girl and I told him to knock it off! He did it again, and the little girl picked up a clump of sea weed and put it on Curtis' head! Good for her!
Game off...Curtis is afraid of sea weed and now won't go back in the water! LOL!
Andrew soaking up some rays!
Johnny in the dugout on the last day of t-ball!
Look who's keeping me REALLY busy! He's into EVERYTHING!!!!!!!! I forgot what this was like!
We ended the week by going to a pool in Eagen with some friends on Friday! Weather was perfect and we had a great time!

My BFF Lynne from the Netherlands is coming with her kids to visit tomorrow! I can NOT wait! It's been a year since we saw them! They moved to Baton Rouge a week ago and she is due with a baby in 5 weeks! I'll post pics of her visit! Until then, check out the video below! Andy LOVES the creeper!

Happy 4th of July!

The teacher in me thought making these 4th of July hats would be fun...but once I realized that my kids would actually WEAR them...it wasn't such a "Cool" idea anymore!
Here's an example....walking around the MN Zoo on the 4th! LOL!
Erik and the boys in the Grizzly Coast!
At the African Safari Exhibit!
My two babies...Curtis and Andrew! Curtis was too tired to walk anymore! He was asleep within 5 minutes in the car!
That evening, we went to the Zellners for a cookout!
While the older kids were enjoying their sparklers...

We were trying to get a picture of Meredith and Andrew in their 4th of July outfits! First we put Andrew down. But he ONLY wanted to ATTACK Meredith. So we NEVER got the picture, because he kept making her cry! It's the first time...but I'm SURE it won't be the last that he ANNOYS her!

Johnny ONLY likes to wear UNIFORMS! Thank GOODNESS we found one for the 4th!
CLOWNS!
Kids thinking that Erik was SO cool lighting off fireworks. I on the other hand was a NERVOUS wreck b/c he is SO laid back! He kept telling me, "KATE, don't worry!" Here I am keeping an eye on the festivities! I told him there were 8,000 people in the USA injured or killed on the 4th from fireworks. I don't think it made much of an impact!
After Megan's we walked down to a friends house on our street to watch the New Prague fireworks from their deck!
Andrew loved them...until he fell asleep about 10:15pm on my shoulder in the middle of it!

Watching the neighbors light off fireworks!

We had a great 4th! We missed the La Crosse Gang...but had a nice weekend staying put, after traveling so much! Next year, P-A-R-T-Y at Meg and Kyle's as they can see the fireworks from their house and deck! Get your reservations in early! (:

Couple of Buddies!

Andrew and Meredith testing out my old stroller from back in the "Curtis/Johnny Baby Years"! They two of them= CUTE! (Could her dimples be ANY CUTER?)
Pooped out from all the action in the culd-a-sac!
My kids are all asleep...but look who got a second wind! LOL!
