Happy Mothers Day

Curtis was SO excited this week for his school's Field Day. It was cancelled two weeks ago due to storms, and they got half of it done before more storms cancelled it for good. Here they are trying to pass a ball to the back of the line only using their legs.
Curtis was NOT going to start over when the ball fell between his legs...so he pretty much almost did a backwards roly-poly! Wonder what the girl behind him was thinking?
Mothers Day was nice. We did our first family run. Bubba and I did the 5K and Erik and the other boys did the 1 mile run. Afterwards we went to our friends house and had a great brunch.
Congrats to Curtis who got 3rd place overall!
I got this LOVELY card from Curtis for Mothers Day! NEVER in a million years did I think I was OLD....but my 7 year old does! LOL! I LOVE it! I'm an OLD, Radical, Happy, Excellent, Thankful MOM!

Finally, the above video was taken on Friday night after Curtis' team won their FIRST game since the season started at the end of February! Tonight is their last game! I'm SO glad they won ONE game! Curtis is the one with a red helmet on.

Strawberry Picking

I have to say that red, ripe strawberries in April and May out at the fields are not the norm for us. There is a strawberry field across from the grocery store and the two younger boys and I headed out to do some picking today!
Here they are getting ready to get picking. We had to wear boots not because of rain, but because of the fire ants that bite! The ground here is red clay and not dirt. In order to plant the strawberries, they had rows of strawberry plants in black garbage bag type material, with dirt on the inside of the black material. It was VERY organized and easy pick the strawberries compared to WI/MN.
The boys loved it...and the berries were sweet!
Look MOM!
It's filling up!
We had a great morning, and have been enjoying our berries!
Bubba can ALWAYS be found in his rain boots. At the mall, church, park, school, etc. I was inside getting dinner ready on Sunday night, and noticed him on our deck. Who can resist a picture like this?Bubba is not going to bed well anymore. I'm pretty sure it's b/c he needs to ween off of his naps. So, I kept him up all day yesterday. I was SO excited to throw him into bed early and have a nice evening. Curtis and I were working on homework around 3:45pm and after we were done, this is what I found on the couch! Guess this lil' one still needs a nap!

Finally, Curtis and I were at church tonight making rosaries and walked out and saw this in the parking lot. Curtis could BARELY breath he was laughing so hard! He asked for my phone and snapped a picture as we drove by! Can't lie...made me chuckle quite a bit too! I love having little boys!
