Here he is this Saturday before his game. On Friday night his friend was dropping him off at home, and Johnny saw the neighbor kids all at our house. He was SO excited that he jumped out of the mini van as fast as he could and his feet were tangled in his friends backpack. He fell right on the pavement elbow first. That night he wasn't using his left arm at all, and I thought it might be b/c it had such bad road rash. I watched him all night, but thought maybe if he slept on it, he would forget about it and feel better in the morning.
Well, morning came, and he was eating his cereal with his right hand and brushing his teeth with his right hand too! (He's a lefty). He told me he was fine, and wanted to go play in his basketball game. I asked him to swing a bat for me and he wouldn't do it. (Can you believe baseball started yesterday too!?) So, we loaded up the car and went to the doctor. The x-ray isn't a clear cut fracture, but it looks as if he's fractured his arm. We go in this week to a children's pediatric orthopedic to see what's next for Lefty.
When you are five and you get a cast/sling it is SO SO cool....
For approximately 6 hours, and then you become very angry!
Let's hope we get good news at the doctor. or it will be a VERY long spring for my active little boy!
