Surprise Party for Johnny!

Johnny's t-ball coach found out tomorrow is Johnny's birthday and he contacted all the parents on the team and organized a surprise party at practice tonight. He knew that Johnny was new down here, and didn't have a lot of close friends or family around to celebrate with him. So he took it upon himself to make my little boy's year! Here they are with the cake singing "Happy Birthday" to him!
As if it couldn't get any better, they also had all chipped in an boughten him a bat!
Seriously, how stinking NICE are they! Look how excited he is!
Johnny had such a great night, and we met a lot of super nice parents. I have a feeling that tonight was the start of some friendships for our entire family! I can't thank Coach Dave enough! One little gesture, can make such a difference in someone's life and confidence! On another note, Bubba is an official "Field Rat!" He isn't called "Bubba" for nothing, as now he's taken up eating the dirt!
Here he is crying when we tried to put him in the car to come home! He was yelling, "I YANT FIELD, I YANT FIELD!" At least he loves being at the field, because I have a feeling he has many more hours to put in there!

And Just Like That...

He was getting on the bus headed for the first grade!

Curtis' official first day of school was this morning. We went to open house yesterday and were completely shocked at the size of the school. To put it in perspective, it is roughly 1/6 the size of New Prague, Minnesota. (K-5 ONLY!) About 1,000 kids!

We met Curtis' teacher and she was so nice. She moved to NC, three years ago from Indiana. She's a Notre Dame fan, as well as a Colts fan. Two of Curtis' favorite teams, since he was born in IN! Little connections like that make a BIG difference in the transition to a new place. He was so excited to wear his new ND shirt to school today!

Last night, everything was laid out, and the alarm was set. I woke up at 6am, and he was suppose to wake up at 6:05am. I went to his room to check on him, and I'll never forget what I saw. His silhouette in the dark room, already dressed, shoes on and tied, standing in front of his alarm clock waiting for it to go off. Just watching it. He was SO excited to go to school, and ride the bus! It's exciting to watch him as he goes through this process, and with his personality, I think he'll do JUST fine today!

The Next American Idol!

This morning Johnny and Curtis came up with the bright idea that they wanted to become famous. They were practicing all morning to be the next "Jonas Brothers" or "Jackson 5." I had to run out to the car to get the camera once I heard them. Take a listen for yourself, but I'm thinking that they might be better suited at making "America's Funniest Home Videos!" Poor Johnny, and he loves to sing SO much! (Words to the song= Star Wars, Star Wars the CLONE War, Star Wars the Clone War, Star Wars , Star Wars!)

Weekend

The weather this weekend, in the mornings, was much more bearable. So, we were anxious to spend some time outside. The boys taught Bubba how to ride a scooter and he actually picked it up! (So what if he's as slow as molasses in January...he thinks he is top dog!)
My lil' Baller!

While Bubba napped, Curtis and Johnny had a lemonade stand. They did this while Erik mowed the lawn, trimmed the lawn, and edged the lawn. Yes, if you were one of my old neighbors, you DID read that right! I know, VERY hard to believe Erik spent that much time on the lawn. Maybe he's turning over a new leaf....but I tend to think it's just the heat getting to him!

Overall a great weekend and each week we are liking it more, and are starting to feel more comfortable down here!

Never Gets Old...

Today the boys saw some old pics of my sisters and cousin Chad upside down with sun glasses on. They were cracking up and of course wanted me to take pics of them doing the same thing!
Curtis thought it was the funniest!

Lefty thought it was pretty funny too...but as your can see from the reflection in the sunglasses, NOT as funny as Curtis thinks it is! LOL!
Anyone that knows Bubba, knows that he has to do EVERYTHING his brothers do.

Hubba Bubba...

While Johnny has been busy with school, and Curtis with baseball...
Here's what Bubba's been up to...
Putting his stinky "piggers" on the table!
(Naughty BOY!)
And he always has a little room for "more."

We are totally in love with our lil' hubba Bubba!
I swear he gets squeezed, tickled, and kissed more than any other kid.
It's just hard not to, when you are near him!

Ottoman

When my mom and I went furniture shopping and we spotted this couch and ottoman, I think this is EXACTLY what we envisioned.
I LOVE IT!
