Delft

Anna and Colleen
Anna and Colleen on a cute street
The three of us after lunch outside the old Church.
We went to Delft today with NO kids. I took my friend Lynne's kids in the morning and she took mine in the afternoon. So, the girls and I took advantage of it, and went to Delft to have lunch at a cute cafe, shop the market, and the little shops! Was a nice afternoon. Now it's off to Centrum (City Center) for some evening shopping when Erik gets home. What a fun day!

Seventeen Years Ago...

Anna and I outside the ONE and ONLY Starbucks in Holland! I was SO excited to see that they FINALLY built one while I was in the US over X-Mas! You better believe I had a mocha while I was at the airport picking up the girls!
My sister Colleen and Anna in Schipol Airport- Amsterdam.
Anna trying to get some SHUT-EYE! YEAH RIGHT!

It was about 17 years ago, when I babysat these two girls. One was by CHOICE, and the other was a "Family Duty!" Now here they are in Europe, to hang with me for their winter break! Let the fun begin!

View from Curtis's World!

For Christmas, Curtis got a Little Tyke's Digital Camera for kids. He thinks he is SO cool, and has taken 196 pictures already. (Who'd he get that trait from? I only took 731 of our visit back to the states!) So, I was up-loading his pictures from our trip, and here are a few I ran across. Funny what a kid sees every day! There seems to be a theme!

Another "Johnny" Moment...

BIG RED

Curtis (The Sexy Red-Head)
Kyle (Is this what their kids might look like some day?)
Johnny (Nice side swiped bangs!)
Me (Megan was SO grossed out when she saw this picture!)

What do you do with it's -20 degrees below zero in Minnesota? HAVE A LITTLE FUN! We are all jealous of my sister Megan's hair. So, one night, we had her put her hair in a pony tail and hang it over our heads to see who is the best looking red-head! It brought us some laughs!

The Airport....

Here's a picture of us in Amsterdam at the airport with all of our luggage....waiting to see how we were going to get home. Looks like we had a great Christmas!

We're BACK!

We just got back and the travel part went smooth. The boys were great! Johnny only slept for one hour on an overnight flight....but was still good. So, after we got on the plane, Erik looks at me and says, " We'll babe, so far, so good!" In my head I thought- "Don't jinx us!"

With 2:12 minutes left in the flight, all of a sudden I heard the BIG MOTHER fly out of Erik's mouth. He asked me if I took the keys out of the ignition of the grey car in MN. I said, "No, why would I, Megan needed to drive it home." Erik gets SO mad. He was cussing up a storm. Which is not usual for a guy who usually never loses his cool.

Here's the deal- we have 8 HUGE check-on's- 4 carry-on's, a stroller, and a carseat. We have a car parked at the airport, so we can just get in it and go home. It's been sitting there for 3 weeks. Well, ERIK (he'll try to blame it on me or my sister Megan) left the keys in MN- the CAR Keys and the APARTMENT keys! So, we are in Europe, with NO place to go and a HELL of a lot of luggage!

We land- and got our luggage and went out to the door of the airport. Erik went to the Hilton in the airport to see how much a room was. (Thinking I could rest with kids and bags, and he could go to work and get car stuff figured out.) They only allow three people per room- ("Damn Hiltons") and told us we needed to get 2 rooms. So, then it was on to plan B. We got a taxi (Van for 90 Euros to our house.

Then, when we got to our house, we were locked outside. (Remember, the car is STILL sitting in the airport parking lot.) I ran the neighbors door and they buzzed us in the building, but we were still locked out of our apartment. Then, I ran down to the beach to Roy's Restaraunt (The landlord) and THANK GODNESS he was there with a spare set to let us in the aparment, so I could get my keys. Only problem is our car keys are in the US. And Lynne (my friend) has the other one at her house, and she is in Scotland for the holidays.

I'll post pics from our trip the past 7 weeks by Monday. I just wanted to let everyone know we made it back, and STILL like each other! (:
