Margie's Saga Continues...

To start off this entry, I need to explain something. First off, dogs are all over this country. You can bring your dog in the supermarket, in the mall, in restaraunts, on the trains, on buses, ect. The only problem, is that most owners don't clean up after their dogs.
I have two more stories about my mom. First one is my mom and I were shopping for shoes on Friday afternoon. As we are in the store, my mom looks at me and says, "This store smells like poop!"
I smelled and said, " I'm pretty sure it's you."
My mom lifts up her shoe to look at the bottom of it, and as she does it, she realizes that there is dog doo-doo, all over her hand and on the bottom of her shoe! We were DYING- and had to high tail it out of the store and find a restroom to wash her hands. There goes 50 cents down the drain! That was day two, in the "Doo Doo Drama!'
Day three, and my parents were walking on the beach. My mom was SO nervous about stepping in dog doo-doo, that she was constantly on the look out for it, watching the ground at all times. What she wasn't looking for, was the huge sea gull that decided to unload on the back of her jacket (I mean -MY JACKET THAT SHE WAS BORROWING!).
Can't wait to see what tomorrow brings! Welcome to HOLLAND!

Windmill Saturday

On Saturday, we discovered Kinddijk. It's a place where they have nineteen working windmills. Eighteen of them are still lived in today. Really neat place to visit! We had to take a ferry in our car over to them. We all had to trust Erik at the wheel while the ferry was going across the water! Can you say- "Anxiety Attack!"

Here Comes the Sun!

After three straight weeks of rain, we finally had a day of sun! Spent all day Sunday on the beach. Boys were loving it! Curtis doesn't seem to have problems making friends with the Dutch!

Don Curtis The Second...

Let's just say, that my dad has a LOT of his father in him! You think he's been enjoying the view and all the action on the beach?

Oh, #*%@!

We are having a great time with my parents here. We've spent the past few days getting them use to the neighborhood and playing with the kids. Today we went to Delft (The town where they paint the white and blue china). We left the kids at home with a sitter for the morning. Had a GREAT time. Went to visit old churches, went to the market, shopped, and ate at a cute cafe on a canal. The story of the day, goes with the picture on top. We got off the tram outside my house and we were walking home. My dad sees this woman ALL dolled up- OVER the top dolled up like she had it "going on." She is a very hefty woman. She was wearing black shiny boots up to her knees, a TIGHT mini-skirt, and a tight tank top, which I would just wear under a shirt. My dad says, "Look you guys, she's hanging out all over the place!"

He is laughing, and mom and I are straining out necks to get a good look at this woman. As we are looking, Dad yells, "Marge, watch out!" Mom finally gets a glimpse of this woman, as she is stepping right in the middle of "doggy doo doo" on the side walk. We were all dying of laughter, and my mom was laughing, mad, and gagging all at the same time. Had to get a pic of her trying to get it off her shoe!

I think this picture just about sums it up! (Curtis seeing my parents as the elevator door opened.)

Boy After My Own Heart!

Johnny is a "Junk Food Junkie!" He asks for chocolate and candy for breakfast. He tries to snag your soda, if you accidentally leave it laying around, and he loves NOTHING more than a bag of Doritos! (No question that he is my kid, and a nephew of his Aunt Megan!)
Johnny and I woke up on Saturday morning, after Erik had been watching a video the night before and he left a box of chocolates out. Johnny was SO excited, trying to get into the box and eating a few. He looked at me and put his hands on his face and said, "Dis is gonna be SO Yummy!" I had to capture it on film!

Pictures on the slide show above are of our week. We had rain, rain, rain, and MORE rain all week! A huge wind storm hit. Our balcony door was blowing off, and had to be held shut with wood. The sea was the wildest I'd ever seen. Anyone who knows me well, can imagine all the time I spent on the internet looking at the weather radars ALL DAY LONG!

On Sunday, the music group Il Divo played in a free concert on the sea. We had friends over to enjoy the music and fireworks. Only problem is we kept the kids up till midnight, and they cancelled the fireworks last minute. We had some VERY disappointed children. We got away with telling them, Il Divo forgot the fireworks in the trunk of their car. They fell for it this time! Not sure if that same excuse would work in a year!

Today, I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of my parents. They arrive tomorrow early morning and will be here for 2 1/2 weeks! I'll try to post more often with them here!
